Sunday morning links 9/28

40 days until Butler’s first game of the 2013-14 season. Moving towards the season and into when the games actually start playing, we’re looking to do a daily link dump here on the site every morning for all of you to keep up with Butler Basketball around the web as you drink your daily cup (or two) of coffee. Here are a couple for this morning:

IndyStar’s Zak Keefer talked to head coach Brandon Miller and senior Erik Fromm the other day before practice officially began. Here is what came from that.

2015 center Derrik Smits picked up another offer yesterday from Clemson. This is his third, with Butler being his first and Xavier in there as well.

Trevor Lowry of Rant Sports examined the Butler roster looking for who will be the leading scorer for the Bulldogs this season. Interesting take here as he looks at the new roles of a couple of players on the roster.

Matt Norlander of CBSSports took a look at Butler’s schedule on the national scale this season as they get much more national exposure with the move to the Big East and Fox Sports 1. He was also throwing out a bit of praise for the Butler program in talking about how the national exposure is good for college basketball. Here is a taste:

“It’s a good thing for Butler and for college basketball, because I maintain these kind of programs — when they’re good in the regular season — do bring a dollop of casual fan interest as well.”
