Another offer from new head coach Brandon Miller surfaced on Saturday as it appears Butler is starting to reach out to new prospects with its new staff.
The offer went to a guard from Wisconsin, Riley Lachance, who has several mid-major offers to now go along with Butler, Missouri, Oklahoma State, and Creighton. Recently, his recruitment has grown, though, as he is starting to see much more interest from higher level schools.
Much of that has to do with his talent on the offensive end. He averaged over 20 points last season on a very good Brookfield Central team, while shooting 40% from beyond the arc. Now, his game is moving beyond a pure shooter to an all-around guard.
And, a guard is something Butler has been looking to add to its 2014 class for a long time. Right now, they have filled a need with a big man coming in, but they still have to fill a void at the point guard position where the depth on this year’s team is very thin.
Don’t expect a quick commitment from Lachance, however, as now is a big time in his recruitment. He is continuing to rise as a prospect and bigger and bigger schools are noticing.
