Two new offers were extended this past week – the first two by the new head coach of the Butler Bulldogs, Brandon Miller. This is the recruiting page where we will list and put some basic information and a video of each player with an offer in the 2014 class. Normally, you can access this page at anytime at the top of our site, underneath the logo. However, with this being the July Evaluation Period, we thought we should shed a light on the recruiting picture, so here are the 2014 players who currently claim an offer from the Butler Bulldogs.
6-5, 185 pounds
A part of two state championship teams in his first two years of high school, the nationally ranked guard has been at the top of Butler’s list for a couple of years now, and the word is the strong interest is mutual. His recruitment has recently added a new school in UCLA after his former high school head coach, Ed Schilling, took a job as an assistant on Steve Alford’s staff.
5-10, 152 pounds
Ulis recently added Butler to a pretty long list of offers and Florida quickly followed suit. Ulis may be a bit undersized, but makes up for it in his quickness and ability to get into the lane at any time.
6-9, 220 pounds
The former Indiana commit, Lyles is garnered as one of the top prospects in the entire nation in the 2014 class. Having taken a couple of unofficial visits, Butler remained on his list of schools he is considering when he cut the list to six.
6-8, 215 pounds
Butler extended an offer to big-time athlete Reid Travis but interest seems to be waning. Travis is ranked No. 41 in Rivals’ Top 150.
6-4, 195 pounds
Butler offered this quick, lengthy guard in the early spring and initially seemed to have placed an emphasis on his recruitment.
6-9, 210 pounds
Shane Hall received his offer from Butler in the summer of 2012. Coaches from Butler saw him in December and figure to be a big player in his recruitment.
6-7, 190 pounds
St. Louis, Missouri
Barnett was first reported to have an offer from Butler in the summer of 2012, but interest seems to be waning for this St. Louis wing. He also has offers from high majors such as Florida, Michigan State and Missouri.
6-7, 180 pounds
After a strong April showing, Norris has began to collect several offers over the recent weeks including several ACC and SEC schools.
6-3, 180 pounds
Butler joined Mitchell’s long list of offers that include several high-majors such as Alabama, Kansas State, Georgia, Marquette, and Tennessee. In an article shortly thereafter, Mitchell noted that Butler is definitely in the running.
6-4, 190 pounds
Butler offered this sharp-shooter while he was attending its Elite Camp in early June. The Bulldogs add themselves to an offer list that consists of Saint Louis, Kansas State, and Dayton, among others.
Lance Tejada Jr.
5-11, 185 pounds
Pompano Beach, Florida
Another recruit ranked in the Rivals’ Top 150 on Butler’s radar at No. 138, Tejada Jr. is a quick, talented guard that can get to the rim almost at will despite his lack of size. His other offers are headlined by Florida State, Miami (FL) and Virginia.
6-6, 195 pounds
Ranked at No. 137 in Rivals’ Top 150, Martin is a recruit that is perceived to have a lot of interest in Butler. While they did hold off on offering for a long time, the Bulldogs do appear to be at the forefront of his recruiting picture with his other offers from St. Louis, Texas Tech and Xavier.
St. John, Indiana
The Lake Central forward, Wideman was named a Junior All-Star for the Indiana team this spring and enjoyed a successful couple of games with some of the state’s best talent. Butler is the only high-major to offer the soon-to-be senior, but he does have a couple from the likes of Ball State, Indiana State, Kent State and Bradley.
