Butler offers 2015 Guard Luke Kennard

When the recruiting period opened for coaches to be able to contact 2015 recruits as much as they so choose, news of a new offer extended was expected at any point. On Thursday, news of Butler’s third official 2015 offer came out as they extended it to Ohio guard Luke Kennard.

Already holding offers from Michigan, Notre Dame and Xavier, among others, Kennard has made a name for himself with a very impressive spring and that has led to these high major offers. Butler has been in the mix for a long time, but they are now officially on his offer list.

Kennard stands at 6-5 and his known mostly for a strong offensive game and a very consistent shot to go along with good size for someone who figures to play as a guard in college. He came in to college and averaged over 16 points per game as a freshman and has only improved sense then.

Ranked at No. 32 in the country in Rivals’ Top 150 for the class of 2015, he also has the ability to get to the basket and finish with either hand. Interestingly enough, he shoots left handed on his jumper, but throws a football and a baseball with his right hand.

Kennard’s recruitment his sure to be a national one with many high-majors getting involved, so, while they weren’t one of the first few to offer, it was good for Butler to be in the mix early. Only time will tell how much of a factor the Bulldogs will play in his big picture.
