Monday marked another game in the series of games that Indiana’s seniors and juniors go about playing in early June, and this time they were matched-up against each other. Fresh off of two wins against Kentucky’s team, the Junior squad headed to Sullivan High School to face off against Indiana’s Senior All-Stars. And, while it remained competitive throughout, the seniors were able to come away with a win.
Future Butler walk-on and a Senior All-Star All-Star, Michael Volovic didn’t score but he did have three assists, a steal, and a block playing 13 minutes off of the bench. He did play in another All-Star game at Knightstown this past week, however, and received high praise from Tom Davis of the News-Sentinel in Fort Wayne.
As far as the juniors are concerned, Trey Lyles did not play due to a conflict with Team Canada. He struggled in the first game last week against the Kentucky team, but did bounce back to score 18 points in the second game. The Juniors on Monday would have to do without him, though.
Trevon Bluiett, however, was perhaps one of the most impressive players on this roster and proved it again on Monday with another strong showing. Bluiett started for the junior team and also wound up leading them in scoring with 22 points on 8-15 shooting and 4-5 from the free-throw line. He also added two points and an impressive five steals.
As the seniors look to complete the sweep in 2013 and win both games, these two teams will be back at it on Tuesday night at Tipton.
