When news broke that Indiana-native Evan Gordon would be transferring from Arizona State, the Indiana Hoosiers quickly became a favorite. And, after visiting Tom Crean in Bloomington this past weekend, rumors surrounding the situation were all pointing towards Evan Gordon becoming a Hoosier.
However, he did visit Butler on Tuesday as well. “Tough decision ahead can’t beat Butler University style of play and the Master Program oh yeah did I forget the Big East hmmmmmm tough,” he Tweeted after his visit to Butler’s campus. He also called playing for the Bulldogs “another great opportunity” and said Butler is “another great program.”
Because he had already graduated, Gordon was available to play right away, andPerhaps Butler could have used another experienced point guard in the back-court as well, but Evan Gordon announced on Twitter this Wednesday that he will, indeed, be a Hoosier this upcoming season.
The younger brother of the New Orleans Hornets’ Eric Gordon, he averaged just over 10 points a game last season in a large role for the Big 12’s Arizona State. Gordon will now become a part of a Hoosiers team that is coming off of a Big Ten Championship season.
